About Us

Mijo Candle Co. is a queer, Mexican-owned candle business creating luxury, hand-poured candles using a premium coconut wax blend and non-toxic fragrance oils you can actually smell in your home. Rooted in Mexican heritage and inspired by the bold aesthetic of the 1970s, each candle brings comfort, character, and a sense of nostalgia to any space.

In addition to our signature candle collection, we offer custom candles for businesses, events, and private label projects, as well as mobile candle-making workshops for birthdays, bachelorette parties, team-building events, and more. These hands-on experiences bring people together and allow guests to create something meaningful (and great-smelling!) to take home.

Coming October 2025, we’re opening the Coachella Valley's first Candle Bar & Retail Store in Indio, CA, where customers can pour their own candles and shop a curated selection of goods from BIPOC, queer, and woman-owned brands.
